Refunds & Cancellations
At VVRapid Digital, we aim to be clear and fair about how refunds and cancellations work. Because most of our work is custom and time-based, we handle refunds a bit differently to a normal online shop.
This page is a plain-language summary. If there’s ever a conflict, our Terms of Service will apply.
Table of Contents
Project Deposits
For most website, app or custom development projects, we ask for a deposit before starting.
- Deposits secure your place in our schedule and cover planning and early work.
- Once we’ve started work on your project, deposits are generally non-refundable, except where South African law (like the Consumer Protection Act) requires otherwise.
If you change your mind before we start, talk to us as soon as possible — in some cases we may agree to move your deposit to a future project or date.
Cancelling a Project
If you need to cancel a project after we’ve started:
- You’ll be responsible for all work completed up to the cancellation date, plus any committed costs (for example, paid plugins, stock photos, special services).
- If the amount of work done is less than your deposit, the deposit will usually cover it.
- If the amount of work done is more than your deposit, we may invoice you for the balance.
You will still receive any agreed deliverables that have been fully paid for.
Hosting & Maintenance Plans
For hosting, care plans and other ongoing services:
- These services are normally billed in advance (monthly or annually).
- You can cancel with at least 30 days’ notice by emailing us at [email protected].
- Fees already paid for the current billing period are generally non-refundable, unless we’re required by law to refund them.
If you cancel hosting, we can assist with moving your site to another provider, subject to:
- All outstanding invoices being paid; and
- Any additional migration or handover fees we agree on.
When Refunds May Apply
We may consider a partial or full refund where:
- We haven’t started any work yet, and you cancel within a reasonable time; or
- We’re unable to complete the work and it’s not due to delays or issues on your side.
Any refund will be case-by-case, reasonable, and in line with South African law.
Legal Rights
Nothing on this page is intended to take away any rights you may have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act and other applicable legislation.
